About Us
Each menorah is handcrafted by Edward Inks, a sculptor and former university professor whose work spans more than three decades of teaching and creating art. Before turning to woodworking and menorah design, Edward taught sculpture at Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Santa Barbara City College. His large‑scale metal sculptures are installed at two Santa Barbara colleges, in private homes, and in locations around the world. He holds an MFA in sculpture from Carnegie Mellon and spent time in Botswana as a Peace Corps volunteer, reflecting a lifelong commitment to care and service. After retiring from teaching and large‑scale sculpting, he shifted his focus to intimate, intentional woodworking, creating menorahs with a quiet presence and a deep sense of craft.
Andrea has been creating since childhood, beginning with painting, sewing, and jewelry making at around age fourteen. As an adult, she expanded into metalwork, designing extremely lightweight earrings that balance simplicity and comfort. She also creates hand wood‑burned and hand‑painted ornaments, along with mixed‑material earrings in metal and wood. Sewing remains central to her work, expressed through her luxurious pocketed infinity scarves and her curated selection of plush, high‑quality textiles from Shannon Fabrics. Her pieces reflect a love of clean design, thoughtful materials, and everyday usefulness.

Artist Highlights
Barbie De Veer’s jewelry is shaped by her love of color, balance, nature, and the way glass captures light in a magical, shifting way. She studied art at UC Davis and later trained in jewelry making at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
After her studies at FIT, she returned to California and began taking glass classes—an experience that changed the direction of her work. She fell in love with the color possibilities, the looseness of the process, and the expressive freedom glass offered. That was when she knew glass would become the material for her jewelry line.
Since 1995, she has been creating jewelry by hand‑cutting thin layers of glass, stacking them, and fusing them together in a kiln. Each firing reveals new color combinations and subtle variations that can’t be predicted, making the process both creative and meditative. She is continually inspired by the endless hues that emerge when different glasses are fused together.
Barbie’s work blends precision with play, resulting in pieces that feel luminous, balanced, and deeply connected to the natural world. Every piece reflects her joy in the material and her long devotion to the craft.
Emily Cross has been immersed in fiber arts for as long as she can remember. She learned to knit in elementary school, sew in high school, and added crochet in her early twenties—turning a childhood curiosity into a lifelong passion.
For the past decade, she has designed and sold her own line of handmade hats and fingerless gloves. She gravitates toward Merino wool for its softness and versatility, and Fair Isle colorwork remains her greatest creative joy.
Fiber arts shape her travels as much as her work. From exploring yarn shops in France to studying historic techniques in Estonia, Emily continually deepens her craft. At home, she can often be found at quilt shows and yarn festivals, connecting with others who share her love of fiber.
Through every stitch and every adventure, her greatest joy remains her grandchildren, who inspire her with their curiosity and imagination.
